Rockford, one of the less known brands of pressure washers unveiled the Rockford CPU0207 as an affordable solution for those who need real power to get rid of dirt, grease and grim from small to medium surface areas. On paper, its pressure output of 2,000 PSI looks mightily impressive, but our initial research shows that in use it may be a different story.

Sceptics amongst us might be asking where corners have been cut; well there are a few drawbacks to this product as you might expect, which we’ll get into later in the review.

Construction

The Rockford CPU0207 is housed in black plastic and rolls on two plastic wheels. Due to its uneven weight distribution and small footprint you need to be careful the machine doesn’t tip over as certain users have experienced this happening, which can lead to the plastic housing getting cracked.

It comes with a long 32 foot GFCI power cord, so you have enough cable to clean areas at the far end of your garden without using an extension lead. If you do use an extension lead, you should use one which is at least 12 gauge to prevent the lead from overheating.

Performance

In terms of power, this machine is quite impressive with its 2,000 PSI at a water flow rate of 1.6 GPM. However, we’d take the stated 2,000 PSI rating with a pinch of salt because the manufactures have stated that is the water pressure which the pump produces; the wand itself outputs less pressure than this.

Includes Two Spray Wands

The two spray wands give you the versatility to wash different surfaces effectively. The turbo nozzle is used for hard to clean areas such as driveways or block paving. The jet fan spray wand is adjustable to give you a wider water stream to clean wider areas which require less intense pressure. Many users find this spray wand is particularly good for cleaning their car.

On-board hose reel

The on-board hose reel is very handy for storing the 20 ft high pressure hose on the machine without getting any bad kinks in it. Being a reel, it’s easy to wrap the hose onto and provides much tidier storage than most other pressure washers which often use rack type storage.

Pros

The Rockford CPU0207 packs in a good amount of power and has good adjustable wand attachments to enable you to clean many surfaces. Assembly is easy and quick.

Cons

The main drawback is that the machine has a tendency to tip over if it gets knocked slightly due to the way it’s been constructed.

Some consumers have found that the hose connector doesn’t keep the hose securely in place so if you tug or twist the hose then the connector gets disconnected from the hose.

Final Thoughts

As a final note, we have to say the Rockford CPU0207 Electric Pressure Washer does have the power and versatility down for a machine in this category. However, it isn’t a robust pressure washer which you can fully relax using. Be prepared to keep an eye on the unit tipping over or the hose coming out the connector. That being said, if you only intend to use the machine occasionally for the odd job or you only need to clean smaller surface areas then this is worth considering for its power.
